Ama Chhori Foundation of Hope Partnership

Ama Chhori Foundation places great value in partnering with locally based organiations in the developing world dedicated to improving the lives and circumstances of women and children. Ama Chhori provides small grants toward programs like educational trainings, the construction of training centers, construction of housing, and small business development. Ama Chhori Foundation of Hope is currently acting as a fiscal sponsor for Happy Kids Center, allowing for more streamlined financial systems for donors and partners outside of Nepal.

The mission of Ama Chhori Foundation of Hope is to provide women and girls educational opportunities that promote empowerment, independence and a sustainable economic decision-making process.

Girls Not Brides Partnership

Girls Not Brides is a global partnership of more than 1,000 civil society organizations committed to ending child marriage and enabling girls to fulfill their potential.

In 2019 Happy Kids Center was invited to become a Girls Not Brides partnership after launching a unique, incentive and empowerment based child marriage prevention program, Kanya String of Hope.

IndoHemp Partnership

IndoHemp creates high-quality, eco-friendly hemp products made by artisans from severely impoverished regions of Nepal.  IndoHemp is not only contributing to the local economy by creating jobs for vulnerable people, they are also giving back with to the nation’s children with every sale!

Givology is a nonprofit, peer to peer fundraising network made up of individual donors, referred to by the organization of Givologists. Givology connects Givologists with education-based, grassroots organizations like Happy Kids Center from all around the world.

Photographers Without Borders

Photographers Without Borders is a global nonprofit organization committed to telling stories that make change and facilitate the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals. Since 2013, PWB has worked with over 175 storytellers documenting over 175 NGOs and non-profits in over 35 countries.  Happy Kids Center will be hosting Storytellers from PWB in the coming year! Happy Kids Center Featured in Philadelphia Inquirer

In the Sunday Edition of the Philadelphia Inquirer’s series The Upside Nathalie Pompilio published a piece titled, “These local pals have found joy in making kids happy, safe and educated in Nepal”. 

Heker and Carney were both 22 when they arrived in Bhaktapur in 2016. The Happy Kids Center was a semipermanent bamboo structure with a limited mission. The children had rough lives, and it showed in their thin frames, glassy eyes, and dripping noses.  “These kids in this community are special and resilient and so vibrant and different from everything and everyone I’ve ever known,” Heker said.
